FAQs

Q: Why Matterport?
A: Matterport is top hosting provider for virtual tours. With its ease of use and add-ons, it’s one of the best services out there to host your virtual tour. Matterport differs from other virtual tours as it does a “scan” and not only an image, which allows you to take assurance measurements through the program and even create floor plans with certain plugins. Zillow is another option to showcase your virtual tour if you do not want to fund a subscription plan.

Q: Why can’t I just get the images your took for my virtual tour instead of hosting it on a hosting provider like Matterport?
A: In order to showcase your 360 images and virtual tours, you need a hosting provider that allows virtual tours. WordPress has certain plugins that allow to showcase your virtual tours but doesn’t provide a full experience like MatterPort.

Q: Why is there a monthly charge for Matterport?
A: Matterport is a monthly subscription that isn’t free for me and for you. I charge a modest fee to manage the account and to pay expenses. If you have multiple properties, it is usually cheaper for you to manage your own account and add me as a collaborator.

Q: Can you give me the 360 photos after your make your Matterport tour?
A: No, all images and scans are made through the Matterport software. This software doesn’t save the scans made onto my 360 camera.

Q: Can you include my backyard or outdoor space for the virtual tour?
A: No, Matterport tours use Lidar to create scans with the 360 camera. UV light affects the scans creating errors and other issues. Virtual tours through Matterport are unable to scan outdoor spaces.

Q: Why do you charge extra for properties outside of Crescent City?
A: Travel takes time and fuel. This isn’t free for me and need to cover expenses.

Q: Why should I hire you for my drone photography for my property?
A: I have been certified as a Parts 107 Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) pilot with the FAA. For anyone looking to use drones for commercial work are required to have a Parts 107 certification that is valid with the FAA.

Let’s build something great together.
